Is Pic2PC really free?
Yes, currently free! We use analytics to improve the service and may include advertising in the future to keep it free, but we'll never sell your personal data.
Do I need to create an account?
No account needed! Just visit the website, upload your files, and get a code. It's that simple.

File Transfer Questions
How do I transfer files from iPhone to PC?
- Open Safari on your iPhone
- Go to pic2pc.com/share
- Tap "Browse" and select your photos/files
- Tap "Upload Files"
- Note the 4-digit code
- On your PC, go to pic2pc.com

Can I transfer multiple files at once?
Yes! You can select and upload multiple files in one go. They'll all be available with the same 4-digit code.
What file types are supported?
All common file types including photos (JPG, PNG, GIF), documents (PDF, Word, Excel), videos (MP4, MOV), audio (MP3, WAV), and archives (ZIP, RAR). Some executable files are blocked for security.
What's the maximum file size?
Individual files can be up to 10 MB each. You have a daily transfer limit of 20 MB total. This covers most photos, documents, and short videos.
Can I share text or links?
Yes! Click the "Text" tab on the share page to share text, links, notes, or code snippets up to 50,000 characters.
Security & Privacy
How long are files stored?
Files are automatically deleted through regular cleanup cycles that run frequently throughout the day. Most files are deleted within 3-10 minutes of upload, though exact timing may vary based on system activity. Maximum retention is typically less than an hour even during low-traffic periods.
Is my data secure?
Important: This service is designed for convenience, not maximum security. Files are stored unencrypted, 4-digit codes can potentially be guessed (only 10,000 possible combinations), and there's no password protection. Don't use this for sensitive information like SSNs, credit cards, passwords, health records, or confidential documents. Only transfer files you'd be comfortable with a stranger potentially seeing.
Can others access my files?
Anyone with your 4-digit code can access your files while they're available. Since there are only 10,000 possible codes, someone could potentially guess an active code, though we implement rate limiting to slow down guessing attempts. Files are automatically deleted shortly after upload.
Do you keep copies of my files?
No. Files are permanently deleted after the cleanup cycle runs. We don't keep backups or copies of any user data. Once deleted, files cannot be recovered.
Do you use analytics or tracking?
Yes, we use analytics services (like Cloudflare Analytics) to understand usage patterns and improve the service. Analytics track things like feature usage, file sizes, page performance, and general geographic regions - but not your file contents or personal information. We may also display advertisements in the future to keep the service free.
Troubleshooting
My code isn't working
This usually happens because:
- The files have been automatically deleted (cleanup cycles run frequently)
- The code was entered incorrectly
- The files have already been retrieved
Solution: Upload the files again to get a new code.
Upload is failing
Try these solutions:
- Check file size (must be under 10 MB)
- Ensure stable internet connection
- Try a different browser
- Clear browser cache and cookies
- Check if you've hit the daily limit
Can't select files on iPhone
In Safari, tap "Browse" then choose "Photo Library" or "Browse" to access your files. You may need to allow website access to photos in Settings > Safari.
Downloads aren't working
Check your browser's download settings and popup blocker. Files download to your default download folder. On mobile, check your Files app or Downloads folder.
Common Use Cases
Transfer photos from iPhone to Windows PC
Perfect for quickly moving camera photos to your computer without iTunes or iCloud. Select multiple photos at once for batch transfer. Remember: files are deleted shortly after upload, so download them promptly.
Send documents from computer to phone
Great for grabbing PDFs, Word docs, or presentations on your phone before leaving the office or home. Just don't use it for confidential business documents.
Share files between Android and Mac
No need for special software - works seamlessly between Android and macOS through the browser.
Quick text/link sharing
Use the text feature to quickly share URLs, code snippets, or notes between your devices. Avoid sharing passwords or sensitive information due to the 4-digit code limitation.
